I know I can’t speak for everyone for all time but I feel we FORGET Neptune which makes sense because the first thing I ever learned about Neptune was what my astrology teacher told us all those years ago: illusion, delusion, confusion. And there might have been another ION word in there.
NEPTUNE DISSOLVES (my teacher said).
How do we understand this, day to day? How do we begin to grapple with understanding Neptune in Aries which none of us has ever experienced because Neptune is such a slow mover? 1861-1875. That’s the last time Neptune was in Aries and I’m not a political or world-events astrologer although I can feel it at the corners of my mind that it would be very interesting to research that time frame, verrrry interested indeed.
Instead, right now anyway, I’m more interested in… what it might mean small scale, day to day, plus symbolically, anything that might arise as I tiptoe through this idea of Neptune in Aries.
A volcano of intuition. Spiritual fire. Sound good, right? Maybe…
Neptune, like all the planets, is a *way* something happens. One might say: Neptune creeps. Neptune fogs. Neptune cries. Neptune floods. I can’t say that Neptune is good or bad. When you interpret it, it’s part of a puzzle. What planets is it talking to? What house is it in? “Soft” aspects or transits will feel or present one way and “hard” aspects or transits will feel or present another way, and there will be range, a continuum of feeling and manifestation, and the question still remains: how to bring Neptune down to earth?
And we also can’t ignore something I believe is true: each of us has a unique pattern, call it soul or spirit. Call it whatever you want. You bring that to Neptune in Aries. Neptune in Aries is doing what it’s doing to YOU.
Here’s the question put a different way: what exactly (or inexactly) is Neptune DISSOLVING during its stay in Aries?
This is about YOUR chart and where you are in your life and yes Neptune MAY cause some illusion/confusion/delusion but Neptune is also going to… dissolve boundaries TO something you may need very much. Let’s say you have Neptune in Aries transiting your Second House. Will you be flooded with everything the Second House represents because boundaries to it are dissolving? Will it wash it in and wash it out like the tides?
I know people who HATE Neptune. They haaaaaaaaaate Neptune!!! They can’t bear the chaos and confusion and the haze and the POISON and the FUMES of Neptune. I don’t blame them. I had a wicked wicked Neptune opposing my Moon and Pluto for years and my Moon (home) had so many issues until the damn Neptune moved on. True story. Neptune rules chaos.
Let’s return to Isabel Hickey as I like to do.
“The brightest light casts the deepest shadow.” Neptune can reach the most sublime heights or the lowest depths. It rules the next dimension, the astral plane, and finds it difficult to be earthbound. It dissolves matter rather than builds it on the material plane.
The positive aspects of Neptune show wisdom beyond reason, genius, creative ability in the literary, poetic, and musical fields, intuition, clairvoyance, contact with the higher invisible realms, and the realization of the Unity of all life. Not everybody can respond fully to the higher vibration of Neptune.”
Some of her keywords:
SENSITIVITY, INSPIRATION, COMPASSION, IMAGINATION, SACRIFICE, MYSTICISM, CREATIVENESS, DEVOTION, DREAMINESS, FEAR, SELF-INDULGENCE, LIVES IN FANTASY, CHAOS, INERTIA…
Anyone around my age (Uranus in Libra generation, the early degrees) is getting their first taste of Neptune opposite Uranus and what I’m feeling is… if you haven’t yet learned how to *feel* into transits (or Tarot), the time is NOW to learn/practice how to do this. Your inner wheel is the only thing that won’t let you down.
Got planets or points in the early degrees of Libra/Cancer/Capricorn? Neptune is RIGHT THERE, on you. Under a hard Neptune transit, sometimes you have to erect a tiny little temporary boundary. The boundary will get washed away. You’ll have to build it again and again and again.
We can’t always do the higher vibration of anything. Bad shit happens. We all know this. But I can tell you this. Neptune WILL wash away what is not essential just like Pluto and Uranus will topple the extraneous or WHAT IS NOT WORKING. And you will see oh yes you will see the beauty and genius of you after what needs to be dissolved is gone. Passionate flow. Hot yoga.
My personal Neptune in Aries keyword: EROSION. Erosion by the fiery waters. Volcano of intuition. Those of us with a stick up our ass (we know who we are) may need this Neptune more than any other transit. Neptune in Aries, at face value, doesn’t make sense but it might be the Divine Encouragement you need and that this Erosion is a type of refinement of our very souls that only Neptune in Aries can offer. Erosion: removal of rock or soil by WATER (Neptune). Removal of what’s solid. What will weather away?
Not every transit is a WITCH transit. Neptune in Aries is a Witch transit. What soil are you going to deposit and transport? HOW CAN YOU KEEP THE FLOW and not get stuck or lost or addicted or mindlessly escaping? How will you handle your good fortune? Let’s say Neptune floods you with love or money? Will you blow it all or will you do the smart thing and keep erecting little boundaries, all the while knowing they will keep falling down?
Neptune in Aries come to teach us that… everything is ephemeral, temporary and it may very well bring you SPIRITUAL COURAGE the likes of which you’ve never felt before.
To be continued!
