Thank you so much. This is so helpful. And, honestly, as a bit of feedback, I would gladly pay more for this reading. In my buyer’s opinion, your 1/2 hour reading ((should)) be more like $75, which is still affordable. You’re really good.
Every self-employed “service-industry” person struggles with their rates. Struggle is the wrong word. But you know what I mean.
You want steady work, your work is your life, your passion, new clients, return clients, and you want to charge what you feel comfortable with.
I did actually raise my rates this year on some readings. The half-hour Astrology Readings went up $10 but I too have wondered whether I should raise them again, especially for email readings.
I also tend to go overtime so that is one option: don’t raise prices but don’t go overtime either.
Another option is: continue as is.
Now this young woman found me at my $60 rate for Astrology/Tarot together. Who knows? If she had seen a $75 price tag, she may have hemmed and hawed. May not have taken the chance in the first place. I’ll never know.
Ideally I would charge $100 for 30 minutes (and likely go overtime) but I imagine that would price people out. Perhaps I can try it LOL You know how some people do SALES? I’ll do the reverse. I RAISE prices for a period of time 😉
I’m being silly but still serious. Trying to figure out how to make a consistent living with Uranus in the natal 2nd House is… interesting!
Think about it: Uranus is weird, Uranus is astrology, Uranus is erratic, Uranus is surprise! Money comes and money goes. Hard to predict. Expect the unexpected. You gotta have faith that it’ll keep coming in.
And, as an aside, for anyone who does feel I should charge more? You can always tip 🙂 There’s a cute little Pot ‘O Gold on my homepage.
P.S. I came up with the Pot ‘O Gold tip jar on my homepage because I have a very sweet client who, when she buys a reading, says I just put something in your Pot ‘O Gold! It always made me smile.
