The Stars Today: Venus, Mars, Big Rain, And The Shift

"mars retrograde in virgo"

Rain, rain, rain, and more rain in the Big City. How’s the weather where you are?

The Moon is hanging on for the moment in dreamy (late) Pisces but it’s Venus in Pisces we really want to watch because she’s opposing Mars (retrograde) in Virgo and this aspect gets tighter and tighter as the days pass and our binaries wake up: yin/yang, passive/active and all this is further complicated because Mars is retrograde.

Both parties (Venus and Mars in mutable signs) just don’t know. This energy feels like… you’re in the pool and running in place. You don’t get nowhere.

This energy is personal — Venus and Mars are personal planets. Which role are you taking on? Who’s in charge (Mars) and who is letting it happen (Venus)? Follow the leader has never been more complex with an aspect like this. In other words: maybe it’s time to take action and maybe it’s not. You may want to drift until the fog clears.

Sun in early Aquarius will soon be joined by Mercury — today! And once the Moon heads into Aries, also today, she’ll conjunct Uranus = double air + double fire.

Put it all together and you get what? Shifting energy is how it feels to me – so if there’s stuff you want to get done today, even if it’s raining where you are, go ahead and do it. I think the shift makes us MOVE and mitigates some of the Venus-in-Pisces-Mars-Retrograde-in-Virgo-in-opposition-foggy-feeling.

And speaking of Venus and Mars in tense formation, today is the birthday of Leopold Sacher-Masoch. Make of that what you will.
