I love the Tarot and I learned Tarot from a teacher who didn’t use reversed cards. Does that sound odd? Maybe it is. I don’t know.
Now when I get readings these days (and I haven’t had one from my old teacher in years), my readers all use reversed cards and I love it – I feel it adds shading and insight so I thought I’d try it myself.
I mixed up my deck, was playing with it (and I only read with Rider-Waite) and it just wasn’t working for me and I couldn’t force it I guess, but I was trying to force it and… Then decided after some experimentation to return to my old way, the way I learned. And I feel better.
Actually what my teacher would do was just bypass those reversed cards, explaining that those cards didn’t have a message for the person (and I’m paraphrasing actually).
And even though I find it useful, helpful, to have reversed cards used for me, when I do it? It’s like it… fuzzes my frequency or something. Garbled. Can’t hear what I need to hear.
Of course this could all change 🙂 but for now I’m right-side-up.
