I like my sextiles more than I used to. My chart is full of them.
The common wisdom goes that trines are “ease” and “flow” but can also make a person lazy and/or ungrateful.
Have you noticed this in yourself or others?
And the sextile supposedly takes a little bit of work but good will come.
I’ve noticed that by transit, trines are pretty powerful and because my chart has so few of them, I can’t help but notice. And I’d like to think that the “good transits” never quite leave. That they set in motion US, arms open, able to receive better.

When I was taking my astrology class, there was a gal there, Scorpio Sun, Jupiter in the 1st House, and I can’t remember her name. She worked for Homeland Security. And I remember her saying that she felt a particular transit in her body and I wish I could remember which transit it was. But this came to mind today because I’m about to have Mars square my Moon Pluto conjunction. And I swear I feel it in my body. Kinda… agitated? Nervous? Paranoid?
Mars/Moon/Pluto peeps: how do you folks with this natal configuration handle it?
Is there an aspect where you wonder: how on earth do they survive THAT?
So I was talking to my boyfriend and I was remembering that my natal Uranus trines his Venus, exact I think. And I said to him, “Venus trine Uranus! Your love shocks me.” It’s a good shock though. It’s a trine. But a shock all the same. Shockingly good. Shockingly loving. Loving the shocks. Whatever. Electric Luv.
And then he said that he was like a little kid with a crush. That he liked shocking me.
And then a light went off in my head and this light also spoke. The light said tome: DUH. And I said to myself, and to him, I am DUMB about the Penis People. Um, was dumb.
Freud asked “What do women want?” But I have had to learn what do men want. Something so simple, as basic as a boy with a crush on a girl…
Give me 12th House issues? Got it. Give me Venus Saturn? Got it. Venus Neptune? That too. The agony and the ecstasy and the obsession? Been there. Yep. Hand me your tired, your weary, your emotionally spent, your dark night of the soul. I’ve walked in those shoes. But this? This pure feeling? So sweet and childlike?
Let me tell you: Moon Pluto people are not normal. We did not have normal lives. Crushes? Childhood? Was there a childhood? There was not a childhood. I have so many sextiles in my chart that I wonder if the chart looks as dark as it was, as it is, growing up. I wonder this.
So here I am, a grown woman needing a code-breaking and I’m grateful my boyfriend (such a silly word but it makes me smile inside) can translate for me when he realizes that’s the problem.
I am getting less dumb about the Penis People. Are you?
Do you feel restless during Void of Course Moons? Irritable? Can’t sleep? Is there a Moon tonic we can take for this?
Lack of sleep makes me feel awful in every way, and I was on the train the other day wondering whose arms I could crawl into, who would hold me up. Which reminded me of a poem I wrote some years ago called Jesus of the Subway, the end of which goes: “So when you act like someone else/is holding me up/I tell you no/it’s my own strong arms.”
Reading it over, for the first time in years, it struck me how Uranian it is, Sun square Uranus maybe. The type of independence or rebelllion that can be self-destructive. Not asking for help when you need it most.
How do you feel on a Void of Course Moon? How do you feel about asking for help? Do you?
Mercury in Cancer trines Neptune in Pisces today so I’m wondering who you’re talking to and what you’re talking about. Do you feel poetic?I think of Mercury trine Neptune as the poet’s aspect, although there are others.
And because this aspect is happening now, in water, it is accessible to all of us. Mercury, words, meet Neptune, inspiration. Mercury, writing, meet Neptune, dreams. Mercury, hands, meet Neptune, the bottle Yes, many famous writers were famous drunks as well.
This aspect is transiting, and Mercury moves fast, so make use of this free, free-flowing good vibration while it lasts Because with Mercury trine Neptune, all your poems are love poems.

What is the difference between compulsion and discipline? If someone writes everyday, are they obsessed? Or just working hard? Saturn disciplines. Pluto obsesses. When these two lovebirds meet up, in hard aspect in the sky or in your chart, the energy is not, sigh, easy.
The outer planets creep and the outer planets creep and the outer planets creep. It’s soooo quiet. I look at the listing for the “current sky,” noticing Pluto at 6 degrees Capricorn, Retrograde, wondering when he’ll FINALLY cross over into my 5th House. I can never recall my cusp lines (I use Placidus) but these days I read him for both houses, 4th and 5th, and I include the transition itself.
Dear Moon Pluto person: what you need is someone who will not look away. What you need is someone with different s**t than you, different neuroses. What you need is someone who thinks it’s okay when your need feels bigger than the ocean. Someone you can’t scare away. Moon Pluto has enormous needs. Doesn’t everyone?
I’m a Cancer Sun Mercury and Mars so everything for me begins and ends with feeeeeeeelings. And here’s my question today: How do you feel about the opposition, in regards to synastry? We all know what the astro textbooks say, but what is your experience? Have you found romantic oppositions to be stirring and exciting? Or annoying and confounding? Yesterday, the word “fascination” came to mind. “Oh, look at that Mars in blah blah blah over there! Isn’t that… interesting!.”
Now why would you want to do that? Because you have to! Squares don’t leave you alone. They act *inside* you, whether you want them to or not, whether you are conscious of them or not. Yes, THEM. I have more than one. Many of us do!
