The meditation instruction that we are working with for the first week of the mini-course is simple, but not easy.
Eyes open. Gently returning to the out-breath. Sitting comfortably on chair or floor. Not attaching to anything that arises. Even finding the time to sit is not easy.
But tonight I am reminded of how worth it it is. That all these practices we have, all these gurus and healers we run to… you are the guru. If you can just… sit. And not once but as a discipline, a practice, a routine. My North Node is in the 6th House. I’m supposed to do this.
Some folks in the class have intense emotions come up when they sit and some deal more with racing thoughts. Or body aches and pains.
It’s been cold lately in the Big City and I’ve got some muscle aches myself. I stretched a little but when I sat I knew to… direct the breath there. To soften the tight muscle. This is real. This is magic, but it is real.
For the Full Moon in Leo I am going general. I am thinking about what I don’t want. What I want to let go and with each breath I let it go.
One of the gals in the class had this to say:
“I woke up this morning thinking this: meditation forces you to corner yourself. If you’re running all the time, it’s like saying ‘Hey, stop! Come sit with me. How are you doing?’ And then you’re forced to be honest–to look yourself in the eye, so to speak, and feel the answer.”
That’s what we’ve been up to in Week One 🙂
Week 2 I am going to switch things up a little. We’ve been working on the foundation of sitting practice (the kind that I do) and… next I want to go a little higher, move upwards in the chakras. Now that we’re back in our bodies, we can stay rooted while… we expand, explore. Jupiter is going direct at the end of this month! It’s time 🙂
But back to the Full Moon. Is there something, is there someone, you need to say goodbye to? A goal you no longer desire, a habit, a state of mind…
