In Search Of The Lovers (Tarot)

That moment when you realize you want someone to put you back together. Humpty Dumpty. Glue you. And how that’s not wrong, not a bad thing.

See, you can feel the weight of the day (Saturn) crush you or let it be your lover instead.

This is what I was thinking on the train ride home, after therapy ๐Ÿ™‚ And I was going to blog about Pisces Season, but the Tarot is talking to me once again. The Lovers. A card we always want to see, right?

Number 6 in the Major Arcana. The letter “vav” is the 6 in Hebrew, which is a straight line, a staff (the phallus!) with a head on it, a hook.

And what all good Tarot lovers know is that this card is associated with Gemini and having to make a choice. Hmm.

Juliet Sharman-Burke says this: “In a layout, the Lovers indicates a relationship or love affair but with some sort of trial or choice involved. Marriage may follow such a choice…”

The Lovers card is not a done deal. That’s the choice. The feelings are there, the attraction is there. But then what? Do you want what your Lover wants? Or is he/she too busy getting his life back together? Or maybe he/she isn’t into you enough.

Women understand time much better than men. Men think they have all the time in the world. Okay, some men. Some women. But I digress ๐Ÿ™‚

And as I write about The Lovers card, as I *try* to write about The Lovers card, I realize how much more interesting the Devil card is, which I’ve also been writing about ๐Ÿ™‚

Bottom line for the moment: I like seeing this card no matter the context (signifying a second career perhaps or good communications) and the “choice” factor doesn’t feel heavy to me. It’s Gemini and Mercury. Fun and busy fast. Even the trickster side of Mercury doesn’t vex me here.

What are your thoughts on The Lovers?ย
